Iomega Announces Donation of Award-Winning REV Technology To New Orleans Public Schools

Classroom and School Offices Benefit From Rugged, Removable Data Protection Solution

San Diego, March 26, 2009 - Iomega, an EMC company (NYSE: EMC) and a global leader in data protection, today announced a donation of its award-winning removable REV® technology to the Orleans Parish School Board to help store and protect student and administrative data files as well as reducing the time teachers and administrators spend on data management activities.

Iomega REV Technology Donation to the Orleans Parish School Board

Iomega is donating approximately 50 Iomega® REV® Backup Drives and nearly 100 removable REV disks for storing and backing up of all kinds of data files in classrooms, technology labs, administrative offices and school site library management systems. The total amount of storage on the removable REV disks donated to Orleans Parish School Board exceeds 8,000 gigabytes.

Iomega's REV technology donation includes two different REV Backup Drive models and the accompanying removable REV disks. The donation features REV 120GB Backup Drives and REV 120GB disks, as well REV 70GB Backup Drives and REV 70 disks. Each REV 120GB disk can hold approximately 48,000 photos, 2,000 hours of music, or 12 hours of high-definition video.

Iomega will have its field engineering staff train the Orleans Parish School Board information technology team members on using the REV technology. The REV drives will be connected to school site servers for storing and backing up of data at the site. The REV disks can be constantly loaded with data, and removed from the REV drives for safekeeping offsite. Installation of the REV drives is expected to begin this week.
